Schmidt's Custom Framing was going through a transition in ownership, and needed help migrating domain ownership within an existing Cloudflare hosting prover, setting up DNS records to handle emailing and diversion from spam folders. Data was scattered and difficult to find, as the previous owner of the shop had not reviewed records in years.
Solutions
- Locate original hosting provider, determine existing records
- Add SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records to prevent emails from going to spam folders
- Associate existing domain with the new Squarespace site

The Schmidt's Custom Framing copywriter and web/brand designer contacted me to discuss domain transfer.
Review existing records
I compile a list of necessary records and hosting provider information required to complete the transfer.
Implementation
To ensure a seamless transition from old website to new, I collaborated with the web designer to align a time for domain transfer, allowing time for record propagation.
Monitoring and completion
I spend 48-72 hours monitoring the transfer to ensure all systems are go!
